Trager
is a mind body healing approach that increases mobility, relaxation
and inner peace through touch and movement. It is a form of
neuromuscular reprogramming and movement re-education.
During a session, the practitioner is reminding the muscle memory,
and therefore the mind of the client, what the feeling of softer, of
easer, of freer is. The utilization of these gentle, non-intrusive
movements helps release deep-seated physical and mental patterns and
facilitates deep relaxation, increased physical mobility and mental
clarity. Every contact with muscle and joint is an opportunity to
create and deepen the feelings of lightness, freedom, ease and peace.
The effects of a Trager session penetrate below the level of
conscious awareness and continue to produce positive results long after
the session has ended. Changes described have included the
disappearance of specific symptoms, discomfits or pains, heightened
levels of energy and vitality, more effortless posture and carriage,
greater joint mobility and deeper states of relaxation than were
previously possible. These changes occur through the breaking up of
holding patterns that cause dysfunction. These may be massive or minor,
old or relatively new, generated by psychological or by physical
trauma, overwhelmingly debilitating or merely uncomfortable and
inhibiting.
It is really a learning approach to using oneself well, to being a
whole person, to having all one's aspects well integrated and
co-ordinated and to feeling oneself connected to the universal life
force.

Therapeutic massage
can relieve muscle tension, provide greater joint
flexibility, improve circulation, reduce blood pressure and strengthen
the immune system. It also can allow us deeply rest and connect with
our own healing ability.
Valerie is a qualified practitioner of therapeutic massage.
Face Lift Massage
is a deeply relaxing massage work that is entirely on the
face. Whilst the effects are obvious after a session, the benefits of
ongoing sessions are cumulative and result in long term benefits. It
relieves stress symptoms such as headaches, eyestrain and insomnia. It
reduces wrinkles and under eye puffiness whilst improving skin tone
and elasticity through promoting blood, lymphatic and nutrient
circulation to the skin. You look brighter, more radiant and relaxed,
as the body’s subtle energy is balanced and harmonised.
Valerie is a qualified face lift massage practitioner.
Reflexology
is a non invasive natural therapy based on the principle that
reflexes or areas in the feet, hands and ears, relate to the internal
organs and systems in the body. It is based on ancient Chinese and
Egyptian healing arts, and draws on the oriental meridian theory.
Palpation or alternating pressure applied to reflex points helps to
achieve balance in the body, by normalizing the function of the
internal organs that the reflexes relate to. Reflexology helps to
stimulate the body's natural healing process allowing the person to
achieve physical and emotional well being. It is an exceptionally
therapeutic way to relieve many acute and chronic conditions and in
addition, it is very effective at maintaining sound general health and
well being.

Reflexognosy
is a professional foot therapy applied to the lower legs and feet,
incorporating reflexology, joint mobilization and effleurage (massage
strokes), with emphasis on the anatomical structure. It is a system
well suited to sports people, those who stand on their feet for long
periods of time, and for those with structural deviations from the norm
e.g. 'flat feet', 'hammer toes' and so forth. Or more generally for
those who want to preserve optimum posture and balance as these areas
are most fundamental as we age.
Judith is one of only a handful of qualified practitioners of
reflexognosy.
Bodytalk
is a non-invasive healing system that is gentle, safe and
effective. It recognises that health is our natural state and our
bodies have perpetual healing mechanisms that maintain life. A
BodyTalk treatment can stimulate your innate healing ability which then
powerfully activates your body to heal at a deep and lasting level. It
utilises: the most up-to-date research into anatomy and physiology;
the wisdom of advanced yoga; the knowledge of modern physics and
ancient philosophy; the energy dynamics of acupuncture and the
principles of osteopathy and chiropractic.
Your symptoms are just the “tip of the iceberg” – BodyTalk does not
“try” to just fix your symptoms, instead it checks all the functions of
the body to see where the unresolved emotional, physical and chemical
traumas are blocking your ability to complete the healing cycle. Once
they are brought to resolution, you can automatically maintain a
healthy and vital body.

Seiki Shiatsu
Shiatsu is not a massage technique, but rather a unique therapy based on thousands of years of Asian medicine. Being a holistic therapy, consideration of the persons
mental, physical and emotional well being are important for the
treatment to be successful. The philosophy underlying Shiatsu is that vital energy (known as 'Ki' in Japanese, or Qi) flows throuhgout the body in a series of channels called meridians. For many diferent reasons Ki can stop flowing freely producing a symptom.
A Shiatsu therapist will consider your state of health, the symptoms you are experiencing, and depending on your constitution and general energy levels, will use a variety of technqiues to improve your energy flow and restore balance. These may include gentle holding, sustained pressure with palms, thumbs, fingers, elbows, knees and feet on the meridians and, when appropriate, more dynamic rotations and stretches. As the quality of Ki changes, symptoms associated with a lack of flow will gradually imrpove.
Shaitsu relaxes mind and body, restores and balances energy, relieves muscular tension and joint pain, eases tension and stiffness, imrpoves breathing, posture, circulation.
Miriam is a qualified Seiki Shiatsu practitioner.
Holistic Pulsing
shares much in common with Trager. While the body is being
rocked, gentle stretching and lengthening techniques are applied,
offering an invitation to open and expand, and bringing awareness to
our tendency to tense and contract. The continual rhythm can be
conducive to a deeply meditative state, rapidly relaxing and calming
the whole nervous system.
As our physical bodies begin to relax, expand, and let go, our emotions
are encouraged to surface and be expressed. This can result in
dramatic and positive effects on our physical symptoms and life
patterns, as we release past trauma and outmoded beliefs. Healing and
integration can flow to those areas where we were blocked, rigid, or in
pain – reminding us of the possibility of healing through ease and
pleasure.
The overall aims of Holistic Pulsing are to expand inner awareness,
develop self-acceptance and self-responsibility, and to re-integrate
the whole person. The focus is on healing through ease of movement,
wholeness, and enjoyment.

Reiki
Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also
promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based
on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is
what causes us to be alive. When the flow of the "Life Force Energy" is
disrupted, weakened or blocked, emotional or health problems tend to
occur. Imbalances can be caused from many situations occurring in our
lives, such as: emotional or physical trauma, injury, toxicity,
nutritional depletion, negative thoughts and feelings, including fear,
worry, doubt, anger, anxiety, negative self-talk, and from emotions
that are not expressed in a healthy way. Reiki treats the whole person
including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial
effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and
wellbeing.
Deborah is a Reiki Master Teacher and Holistic Coach.
Crystal ~ Energy Healing
Chakras are energy centers that, according to Yoga philosophy, govern
the core emotional and physical functions of our being. They are
junction points between consciousness and physiology.
"When these energy centres are congested or out of harmony your vital life force is unable to freely circulate resulting in di-stress, dis-ease and a lack of mind-body integrity" (Deepak Chopra).
In Crystal healing, specific crystals associated with each chakra are used to help re-align, balance and restore optimum wellbeing.
Theta Healing
Theta Healing is a safe, gentle yet powerful energy healing modality. In a Theta Healing session we identify and shift subconscious beliefs that are causing problems either with your health or some other area of your life.
As the client, you sit opposite the practitioner and share what you would like help with. If you are unsure you can ask for guidance or simply trust the process. Belief and feeling work can also be done to remove and replace negative emotions, feelings and thoughts with positive, beneficial ones. In this way, gently helping us heal and transform our lives
During a session many clients experience feelings of deep peace, love and nurturing.
Theta healing can be used to heal: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Nirvyaja is your qualified Theta Healing practitioner.
Other therapies that are likely be on offer
in the future are:
Watsu
Watsu is a gentle form of body therapy performed in warm water (±
35ºC). It combines elements of massage, shiatsu, joint mobilisation,
and stretching the muscles in a rhythmical, dance-like flow. The
receiver floats on his or her back, face and nose out of the water, and
is supported, cradled, rocked and stretched by the therapist. Moments
of stillness alternate with flowing movements, freeing one’s body in
ways impossible on land. The water creates a weightless environment,
allowing for the experience of a pain-free treatment. The deeply
relaxing effect of the warm water give the body more range of motion and
flexibility, freeing the spine, joints and muscles in a way that is
unique to Watsu.
Watsu is safe, beneficial and revitalising for people of all ages and in
all states of health. It is as joyful to give as it is to receive.
Soul Voice work
Sound healing is an ancient, present and future healing tool. It can be
used alone or in conjunction with almost any other healing modality.
Sound has the ability to penetrate the cells of the body, the conscious
and the unconscious mind, the seen and the unseen. Every word we
speak carries the tone of our sound as an instrument of communication
and healing. Understanding how to tune and use this instrument
effectively shifts not only our own consciousness, but also that of
those who receive (hear) our sounds. Opening and clearing the throat
chakra allows a freedom of self-expression that supports communication
and healing on every level. To expand our vocal range is to expand
our view of life; healing limitations and releasing false beliefs and
negative programming. We may then become a vibrational instrument of
the highest creative force. This is the Soul Voice journey.
